Welcome to Clavet Minor Hockey

The Clavet Minor Hockey Association (CMHA) provides an outstanding opportunity for young athletes to participate in the game of hockey. Minor hockey is developmental hockey. Our objective is to provide athletes at all levels with the instruction and the opportunity to develop their hockey skills (skating, puckhandling, passing, shooting, goaltending) and their hockey smarts (team play, positioning, offensive/defensive responsibilities, specific situation strategies) in a positive sport environment that builds and encourages teamwork, enthusiasm, hard work, and character, both on and off the ice.

GAME ON!

The CMHA 2011-12 teams have been determined via fall evaluations and have begun developing their hockey skills, smarts, and fitness via practices at the Clavet Arena. For information regarding practice schedules please visit www.clavetarena.com. Games for most clubs will begin in the first week of November. The respective team coaches/managers will notify parents and players of their game schedule following the annual SMHA coaches fall meetings. Following these meetings, league schedules can be accessed via the Saskatoon Minor Hockey Association website at www.smha.sk.ca . We wish all the CMHA teams a successful season… have fun, work hard… enjoy another exciting season of Cougars Hockey!

CMHA Celebrates a Great
2010-11 Season
CMHA would like to thank and congratulate players, coaches and parents on a very successful 2010-11. Good leadership and instruction from the coaches, and solid efforts from the players resulted in another year of positive player and team development. Initiation, Novice, Atom, PeeWee, Bantam and Midget divisions all displayed player and team improvement over the course of the season. Great job! CMHA places a great deal of emphasis on player development via its coaching mentorship program, and the long term player development guidelines as developed by Hockey Canada. CMHA looks forward to continuing its strong player development focus as planning is well underway for the 2011-12 season and beyond.

CMHA Midget AA Tier II and PeeWee AA Tier II Cougars Win 2011 SMHA City Championships!
CMHA congratulates the Midget AA Tier II and PeeWee AA Tier II squads as they each captured a 2011 SMHA City Championship on Thursday, March 22nd. The Midget squad also had a strong SHA Provincial run, losing in the semi-final to eventual Provincial Champion, Hudson Bay. Both squads should also be recognized for the compliments they received from officials and opponents regarding the level of teamwork and class, both on and off the ice, displayed by both teams. Well done players and coaches!

CMHA Interlock with SMHA 2011-12
CMHA will again be working in cooperation with SMHA to develop and strengthen its interlocking programs with SMHA from Initiation through Midget for the 2011-12 season. CMHA will be submitting its annual interlock application/renewal at the end of the 2010-11 season. CMHA and SMHA have developed a strong relationship via this format and work cooperatively to develop hockey in and around Saskatoon. The exact number of CMHA teams participating in each level will be based on registration numbers, and the specific tiering of each team will be established at the CMHA fall evaluation sessions in September.
